Yeast cells contain a great number of useful substances, which enable them to be widely applied in such industries as food, medicine, biology, cosmetics, etc.

Molasses, a byproduct in the sugar industry, is a good raw matrial for fermentation as it contains large amounts of fermentable sugars(mainly sucrose).
